It’s not secret that Pokemon have taken their cues from real-world animals and The Fox or “Kitsune” are no different – over the years there have been a number of fox-like Pokemon added to the Pokedex.
If you like this sort of Pokemon then you are luck as we have hand-picked our favorite Fox Pokemon for you. Read on for our top 10!
1. Eevee
Eevee is the foxiest pick in this ranking because, aside from being a Generation I Pokémon, it has the most unique evolution path. Eevee is a one-of-a-kind Pokémon.
Eevee evolves in eight multiple directions, whereas other Pokémon evolve in a single direction. Eevee has the ability to develop into a Jolteon, Vaporeon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Glaceon, Leafeon, or Sylveon.
Eevee also has the prestige of being a game mascot for Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! That is a very impressive feat for having a modern titular game given that Eevee is a Generation I Normal-type Pokémon.
Eevee is a tiny, mammalian quadruped with mostly brown fur. It has a cream-colored bushy tail and a huge fluffy collar. It has short, slender legs with three tiny toes on each foot and a pink paw pad. Eevee is distinguished by brown eyes, long pointed ears with dark brown interiors, and a little black nose.
As a result of having multiple branches in its evolutionary path, trainers can go wild in choosing which ‘Eeveelution’ to pursue in Pokémon GO, as all eight possibilities are very viable Pokémon.
2. Alolan Ninetales
Alolan Ninetales is a variant of the classic Ninetales (which is also part of this list). With the help of Ice Stone, it evolves from Alolan Vulpix. It has a lighter blue coat with longer, wispier fur than the standard Ninetales. White is found on the tips of its tails and crest, as well as the bottom sections of its legs. It has a longer crest and nine tails that are more similar to one another. It also has larger blue eyes and small fur tufts behind its ears. Alolan Ninetales has dual-typing with Ice and Fairy, while the original Ninetales is purely a Fire-type Pokémon.
In Pokémon GO, Ninetales is excellent against both Dragon and Dark types, while Ice and Fairy have a large offensive presence in the meta. Dragon, Ground, Grass, Flying Fighting, and Dark types can take a lot of damage from Alolan Ninetales. There are many different types covered.
Alolan Ninetales is resistant to Poison-type Pokémon, whereas Alolan Ninetales is vulnerable due to its Fairy nature. Alolan Ninetales is a popular Pokémon GO PvP choice in both the Great and Ultra Leagues due to his wide range of moves.
3. Zoroark
Zoroark is a Generation V with Dark typing. Zoroark is a fox-like upright Pokémon with crimson and black highlights. It has a pointed snout and red-colored ears. It also has red rims around its eyes and mouth. Zoroark has a big, red, voluminous mane with black tips braided into a ponytail, with a teal bangle down its length separating the lower section of the mane.
Its illusion ability allows him to change his appearance. In the anime, he transforms similarly to a Ditto, whereas in the game, as soon as he enters the field, he will have the clothes of the last Pokémon on the player’s team, his illusions can also change the appearance of the place and can use illusory “attacks” of the Pokémon he is pretending to be, the opponent will believe they are real, and if he pretends to be human, he can also speak.
In Pokémon GO, Zoroark has a decent PvP moveset all things considered. Shadow Claw and Snarl are both excellent fast moves.
4. Delphox
Delphox’s appearance is based on the Kitsune, a mythological animal from Japanese folklore: like the Kitsune, it has the physiognomy of a fox but also has psychic powers. It is taller than its pre-evolutionary Braixen, and its hair lengthens to resemble a sorcerer’s robe. Delphox is a Fire / Psychic dual-type Pokémon introduced in Generation Six.
Delphox has a decent Attack stat for a starter Pokémon in general. The Fire and Psychic types are both excellent offensive types, with the ability to size down the Bug Grass Ice Steel Fighting, and Poison types.
Delphox’s stat distribution in Pokémon GO suggests that it is intended to be a powerful attacking Pokémon capable of taking a few big hits here and there. Delphox, with an above-average attack stat of 230, is more than capable of dealing massive damage with charged attacks if they hit. It has a defensive rating of 189 and Stamina at 181.
5. Vulpix
Vulpix is a dark brown fox with a pale belly patch, a tuft, and six orange tails. Vulpix is a Fire-type Pokémon that first appeared in Generation I. The Alolan Vulpix, which can be found in the Alola region, is significantly different from its Kanto counterpart. Because of its pristine white coat and light blue accents, the Alolan Vulpix is an ice type. Though it differs in certain aspects from its Kanto counterpart, the Alolan Vulpix is just as charming, effective, and trustworthy.
Vulpix can perform Fire-type moves, but they can also learn Spectre-type moves such as Stunning. Their Fuocardore ability protects them from the effects of Fire-type moves.
6. Suicune
Suicune resembles a wolf or a blue leopard, with white rhombus-shaped spots scattered across its body and a white belly. It has a mane resembling a purple cloak, which most likely refers to the Aurora Borealis. Suicune is a Water-type Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation II.
Suicune has the ability to walk on water and purify dirty water. It appears that wherever it occurs, the north winds blow, allowing it to learn all wind-related moves.
Suicune has near-perfect defensive stats in Pokémon Gold and Silver, with 100 HP and 115 in both Defense and Special Defense. It is also a Water-type Pokémon, which is an excellent defensive type because it only has to deal with Electric and Grass moves. Suicune can also deal significant damage, particularly with a great moveset.
Suicune is a fantastic Pokémon in Pokémon GO. It has a maximum CP of 3372 and stats of 180 Attack, 235 Defense, and 225 Stamina. Suicune is arguably the best of the legendary Pokémon. Its beauty and power make it one of the greats.
7. Braixen
Braixen is a two-legged fennec fox. The face and colors are similar to Fennekin, but unlike the latter, it has longer balls in the ears and a lighter muzzle. The eyes are smaller and red like the nose. Braixen is a Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VI.
In Pokkén Tournament, Braixen is widely regarded as one of the best Battle Pokémon in the game by many players. Braixen is unique in that it is particularly effective against new players who are unfamiliar with its missiles. When your opponents have mastered evading/punishing your projectiles, you must learn how to use its other moves in addition to her missiles.
8. Vaporeon
Vaporeon is an evolution of Eevee, the number one fox-like Pokémon in this list. Vaporeon is colored pale blue with dark blue highlights around its head. The shadows go all the way from its fins to the tip of its tail. A white fin surrounds the Vaporeon’s neck, above its head, and between its ears. In mainstream games, Vaporeon evolves from Eevee after being introduced to a Water Stone. Obviously, Vaporeon is a Water-type Pokémon appearing first in Generation I.
Due to its extremely high damage output, Vaporeon has long been regarded as the most powerful water-type Pokémon that is not legendary. Gyarados and Kyogre have since eclipsed Vaporeon as the most commonly seen non-legendary water Pokémon in video games. However, these Pokémon are difficult to capture or evolve into, at least in games.
9. Theivul
Thievul is a relatively new Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII that is exclusively Dark in nature and develops from Nickit at level 18. Thievul is a vulpine Pokémon with an orange-maroon body, long tail, and slender limbs. It has white chest hair that spreads out from its torso and resembles a cravat. Thievul’s head features two long black ears and a domino mask-like black hair around its eyes.
Thievul has a basic Speed of 90 and a Special Attack of 87, making it a specialized sweeper. It possesses a large reservoir of Special Defense and HP. However, if it is not utilized as such, it is ineffectual.
In Pokemon Sword and Shield, if you want to focus on Thievul with Special Attacks, add Nasty Plot, Psychic, grass knot, or shadow ball to its moveset. Its stats aren’t great in any case, but if you’re just playing for fun or against random buddies, it might be fine.
10. Nickit
Nickit is a Generation VIII Pokémon that looks like a small fox. It has a rust-colored coat that covers the tail, face, and rest of the body. Nickit has bearings that allow it to walk quietly; if it has dirty legs, its tail thinks about cleaning the traces and erasing them. Nickit is a Dark-type Pokémon.
On its own Nickit may not be incredible, but it eventually evolves into Theivul. If you opt to capture a Nickit, you are not making the worst decision. As Nickit evolves at a low level of 18, it’s a good choice for a solid Dark-type that can help you get through some of the early game.
