Mobile games have come a long way. From the simple Snake game found on many phones back in the olden days to modern classics like Fruit Ninja, mobile games used to be simple and mindless fun. However, mobile games nowadays offer a far more ambitious experience.
Grand Summoners is no exception to this tendency, with a sprawling storyline and multiple highly replayable battles. Furthermore, it allows you to play with a group of your friends, as well as indulge in the story on your own if you so wish. The sheer size of the game is also impressive, with more than one hundred characters to take the fray with. As a final cherry on top, many of these characters are from beloved anime series such as One Punch Man and Overlord!
However, it can be easy to find the scale of the game daunting and to be confused about what Characters are worth the trouble. As such, we have compiled a comprehensive Tier list to inform your choices. Note that we’ve omitted some entries from the B tier in the interest of brevity. Let’s dive right in!

Notable Entries
Now that we’ve gotten the Tier List out of the way, let’s look at a few notable entries from each Tier and discuss why they provide such high or low utility. The notable entries have been marked bold in the Tier List above.
S Tier
-
Emperor Islid
The entries in the S Tier most worthy of our attention are Emperor Islid, Mako, Liza, and Juno, who are arguably the best Characters in the game. Emperor Islid provides an insane amount of utility for a variety of reasons.
Firstly, Emperor can provide damage buffs against three different races, and provides general damage buffs as well. Furthermore, Emperor has incredible sustain and nuking ability, making him one of the best characters in the game.
Juno provides great utility via her damage output, though she is outclassed in that category by Emperor. Liza finds her place in this Tier by providing massive team support, especially for an equip-setup team, which she specializes in complementing. Finally, Mako is just the best Sustain in the game, earning her a coveted S Tier spot.
A Tier
-
Saitama
We have some pretty famous names in the A Tier, as well as some straight up deadly Characters. A man that combines both attributes is Saitama, the protagonist of One Punch Man. While he’s essentially undefeatable in the show, Saitama is not an insurmountable force in Grand Summoners. He has excellent damage output, especially against giant Bosses. However, he is outclassed by many Characters in the S Tier, even in terms of damage.
-
Santa Shion
Other notable entries include Goblin Slayer, Priscilla (Fire), and Santa Shion. Goblin Slayer, despite being quite strong in his show, is relatively underwhelming in Grand Summoners. While still an excellent addition to a team, especially if the enemies are Demons, Goblin Slayer does not provide the greatest value in his role.
Priscilla (Fire), on the other hand, provides excellent utility, and could easily be in the S Tier for many players.
Santa Shion is another Character that could easily be S Tier for many team compositions. However, we’ve placed her in the A Tier simply due to her role being better filled by other S Tier units.
B Tier
-
Hellish Blizzard
In the B Tier, we begin veering into territory where the Characters are just pretty good. They aren’t excellent at their roles and are not particularly remarkable in their positions. However, they can still provide satisfactory value in most situations.
Notable entries in this Tier include Hellish Blizzard (Fubuki) and Beatrice. Fubuki, called Hellish Blizzard in Grand Summoners, is from One Punch Man as well. Interestingly enough, her Grand Summoners version is very similar to her character in the show; she’s just good. Her Magic buffs are no longer that strong with the addition of newer Characters that can fulfill her role far better. Furthermore, she requires very high team synergy and does little on her own.
Beatrice is similar to Hellish Blizzard in the sense that her role is filled far better by other Characters. In essence, she just isn’t an amazing Support.
C Tier
-
Boros
Units in the C Tier are mediocre at best and pretty bad at worst. These units can provide good value under optimal scenarios. However, they have pretty poor performance in general.
Notable entries in this Tier include the titular Boros and God Destroyer Abaddon. Despite being the number one villain in the One Punch Man anime, Boros provides very little power in Grand Summoners. Most of his skills require damaging himself, which means Boros severely limits team compositions by requiring high Sustain to be useful. Furthermore, the damage he provides is just not worth the restrictions he places on a team.
-
God Destroyer Abaddon
Abaddon can be a decently useful Unit to have when your enemies are Demons, but his lackluster Arts and poor damage make him easily replaceable.
D Tier
These are the Characters you shouldn’t spend too much time acquiring, nor are they worth bringing to battle. There aren’t really any notable entries on here. However, a fun fact that may have become evident is that there is at least one character from One Punch Man in Tiers A to D! It seems the crossover yielded a pretty diverse roster of Characters, both in terms of style and utility.
F Tier
These characters are our picks for the worst in the game currently. Similar to the D Tier, there aren’t really any Units here that stand out. However, it is important to note that the F Tier is relatively volatile.
Updates and changes to Units can result in many being bumped up, as the F Tier represents Characters who are not viable in most scenarios. As such, even a slight buff may send them into a region of viability for some niche condition.
Conclusion
We hope this article has informed your choices about Unit selection somewhat and has made it easier for you to decide your next Team composition. Remember, if you found some of your favorite Characters in the lower Tiers, do not be disheartened!
While we’ve done our best to be holistic in our ranking, the lines between Tiers are very blurred. Furthermore, what matters most in Unit selection is the fun you have with the Character! As such, just remember that the right character is the one you enjoy!
