Interestingly, you are guaranteed to get a Sunken Treasure item if you continue fishing until you reach 3000 fish caught. This is due to the Sunken Pity mechanic, which guarantees a Sunken Treasure item once you cross 3000 fish. Of course, it’ll take an eternity to catch 3000 fish, and there is no guarantee that you will get the Sunken Armor as you get a random item from the Sunken Treasure. However, this is the only way to guarantee some Sunken Treasure items.
There are a few things you can do to increase your chances of getting a Sunken Armor set. First, you need to get a Collector’s Rod. You can purchase this from Shell Island once you reach level 70. Of course, the level requirement may deter many players from getting the Rod, but the 20% increase in the Item drop rate is well worth the investment.
If you do not want to grind to Level 70 to start fishing in earnest, you can go for the Bronze Rod instead. To acquire this, you need only be Level 30, and you can purchase one from Palo Town.
