1. Destiny 2
The standout feature of Destiny 2 that is superior to most games in this list is its gunplay. The weapons in the game have a great weight and feel to them, making every shot feel impactful and satisfying. Each weapon class, from pistols to shotguns to sniper rifles, has its own unique recoil patterns and handling.
In addition to the standard weapons, the game also features an array of special abilities such as grenades, supers, and melees, that adds an extra layer of strategy and depth to the combat. Players can also customize their weapons and abilities to suit their playstyle.

2. Metro Exodus: Complete Edition
Available with a free upgrade for owners of the original version for PS4 or Xbox One, the next-gen edition of Metro Exodus introduces fundamentally four new technical features: a resolution that reaches 4K dynamic, a frame rate that goes to 60 fps, activation of ray tracing and faster loading thanks to SSD.
All these aspects have a substantial impact on the experience, not only greatly improving the visual impact of the game with regard to the level of detail, reflections, and special effects in general, but also the precision and pleasure of gameplay, which deeply benefits from the 60 frames per second. As for loading times, we found them faster but not instantaneous, inferior in other words to the average of titles for PlayStation 5.
Metro Exodus on next-gen consoles offers a substantially improved technical experience with a resolution that is largely higher (although the dynamic scaler often intervenes aggressively), a frame rate that is doubled, and the implementation of ray tracing, which adds great depth to the game’s lighting, shadows and reflections, particularly in the more traditional sequences of 4A Games’ shooter, those that take place inside closed environments.
The overall compromise is more than acceptable and the experience gains a lot, fully justifying the purchase for new users and a second round on the train for those who have already completed Artyom’s last adventure. However, there are some drawbacks to the game such as the scenarios being distant from the typical atmospheres of Metro, lackluster AI, aggressive scaler, and not very fast loading times.
3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Infinity Ward manages to deliver a surprisingly fresh and entertaining shooter with Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, despite its lack of innovation. The single-player campaign is once again a rollercoaster ride of thrills, drama, and of course, plenty of enemies to shoot.
The Spec-Ops is a fun addition, but it doesn’t leave a very impressive impression. No, the real work is to be found in the multiplayer of Modern Warfare 2. With tight gameplay, pleasant time-to-kill maps that better match the experience, and enough fun modes to choose from. Some design choices, including unlocking weapons, are a bit dubious.
But there are also a number of welcome additions. With the current solid foundation in place, it is now hoped that Infinity Ward will also resolve the remaining issues. Modern Warfare 2 as a complete package is one of the better Call of Duty experiences that we have been able to embrace in recent years.
4. Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is a very pleasant sniper simulator that has left most of its negatives in the past. On PS5 it became even better and the flexible setting made it more accessible to a wide range of players. Additional content and the ability to play on the next-gen console makes it a great choice for fans of the genre.
5. Borderlands 3
One of the highlights of Borderlands 3 is the vast arsenal of weapons available to players. The game features a wide variety of firearms, each with their own unique characteristics and special effects, which allows players to experiment and find the perfect weapon for their playstyle.
Additionally, the game also features a loot system that rewards players with valuable items and weapons, making it a great game for players who enjoy collecting and upgrading their gear.
6. Deathloop
Deathloop is a first-person shooter video game developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. 10. Overwatch 2

The game’s popularity continued to grow with the release of new content such as characters, maps, cosmetics, and game modes. However, as the content dried up for Overwatch, so did the public interest.
With Overwatch 2, the beloved hero-shooter franchise is making a comeback. The game offers a 5v5 format, a free-to-play structure, and a wealth of new content. However, the new Battle Pass structure is a bit disappointing, as players need to reach level 55 of the free Battle Pass to unlock that season’s new hero.
It’s also worth noting that the rewards are mostly cosmetic, and with so many exclusive to the premium pass, non-paying players may find limited satisfaction. Overall, while Overwatch 2 may not be the revolutionary sequel we expected, it’s a well-rounded evolution of the beloved game,
11. The Entropy Center
The Entropy Center is a game that takes inspiration from the highly regarded Portal series and manages to create a compelling experience that stands on its own. The game takes place in a space station and follows the story of Aria, who wakes up with no memory of the past and must navigate through puzzle rooms to uncover the mystery of what happened to Earth and how to reverse the cataclysm. The story, characters, writing, and banter are all well done, and the puzzles are cleverly designed and based on the concept of reversing time. Although the game lacks some features, it’s still an excellent puzzle game that stands out and is a pleasant surprise last year.
12. Farcry 6
Farcry 6 is a first-person shooter game set on the tropical island of Yara, ruled by the dictator Anton Castillo. Players take on the role of Dani Rojas, a local Yaran who joins the revolution to overthrow Castillo and his regime. The game features a vast open-world environment where players can explore the island, complete missions and side-quests, and interact with the local resistance.
This game boasts a diverse arsenal of weapons and vehicles, as well as new gameplay mechanics such as the ability to craft and upgrade weapons. The game’s story is full of political and social commentary and is sure to keep players engaged as they fight to liberate Yara.
13. Tiny Tina’s Wonderland

The Entropy Center is more of a single-player puzzle game with a focus on story and slower-paced gameplay. Both games offer unique and enjoyable experiences but cater to different audiences.
15. Back 4 Blood
Back 4 Blood is a first-person shooter game developed that promised to bring back the fast-paced, action-packed gameplay that made the Left 4 Dead series so popular, while also introducing new features and mechanics to keep things fresh. It felt short on that promise, yet this game is still serviceable as a first-person shooter.
