Owing to its unusual rarity, this pet is usually traded for over billions of the in-game diamonds, and even then, only a few people have this pet and even fewer would be willing to give it away, even at a high cost.
If you do not have a lot of Pet Simulator X experience, you might not be able to assess what these seemingly random words mean, but let us take a quick look at these kinds of pets so that we have a good idea of what makes the Shiny Huge Dog such an excellent pet to have in your pack.

Huge pets are one of the various kinds of pets in Pet Simulator X. They always have the Exclusive rarity and have the unique trait Best Friend. Owing to this enchantment, every one of your huge pets is automatically going to be stronger than your best pet!
In the case of the Huge Dog, Huge Dragon, and Huge Cat, you also get another special enchantment which straight up boosts your pet’s attack damage by 100%. This makes these pets one of the strongest and the most expensive pets in the game.
It would make no sense for such exotic pets to be easily accessible to everyone, so the developers have made them really hard to obtain. You can only get these pet through the following ways:
- Redeem a Huge Pet code obtained by buying a plushie from the Big Games Store (yes, you have to spend some real-life money!)
- Hatch Exclusive Eggs (there is only a 0.5-2% chance for most of the Huge Pets though)
- Buy special eggs that cost Robux or buy a Robux-only pet from the store directly
- Get them from Huge Machine Eggs
- Obtain them from the Daycare (again, there is a very little chance to actually get a Huge Pet this way)
- Get them from Season 1 DLC Gifts

The other special characteristic of the Shiny Huge Dog is the fact that it falls under the Shiny category of pets. Just like the Huge pets, this is one of the rarest kinds of pets and comes together with special perks and enchantments.
Aptly named, these pets shine both in your inventory and in the game so owning one of these is sure to impress all your in-game friends. You can increase your chances of getting these special pets either by getting the Shiny Hunter game-pass or by collecting and utilizing the Shiny Relic hidden away in the Portals biome.
The Shiny Huge Dog in question happens to have both of the above-mentioned qualities, which is why there is only a very slim chance you ever see it, even in someone else’s inventory – let alone in your own possession.
How Can You Get the Huge Shiny Dog?
You are probably wondering, if this pet is so incredibly hard to get, how did players get it in the first place? Essentially, two groups of players obtained it: those who saved up their Huge Dog redemption codes until Shiny pets were added to the game and were lucky enough to pull a Shiny Huge Dog, and those who abused a glitch introduced to the game with the Valentine’s update.
This glitch allowed players to redeem codes that Youtubers had already used in their videos before. By reusing these codes, even players who did not buy the Huge Dog plushie that came with a code for a free Huge Dog were able to get the exclusive pet for free.
Since this glitch was recently introduced, Shiny Pets were already in the game, and some people actually got a Shiny Huge Dog instead of a regular Huge Dog. Unfortunately, this glitch has been patched, and you can no longer recycle codes to get yourself a special companion with ease.
So, what does this mean for regular players who want to get it? You either need to have a few billion diamonds ready for a trade, or need to have someone be willing to give it away to you. Honestly, you are better off just trying your luck by opening tons of different eggs and praying you get this pet.
Final Thoughts
The Shiny Huge Dog certainly carries an exceptional amount of appeal thanks to its exclusivity and special in-game qualities. However, for most players, actually obtaining this pet in Pet Simulator X is going to remain a dream forever.
But you should not let this bring your morale down. There are always a huge number of other pets present in the game that might not quite be the same as a Shiny Huge Dog, but still have incredible qualities and enchantments.
