After repeated delays and the excruciating lack of updates from Warner Brothers Montreal the time to enjoy the much-anticipated Gotham Knights has come. Rejoice, fans of Rocksteady’s Arkham Series, the studio that has made the aforementioned critically acclaimed series bring its own twist to the landscape with games like Dragonball Xenoverse and Mortal Kobal 11 under their belts.
Robin being the poster boy of the bunch attracts any, and everyone, so it’s only logical that anybody wants to main the character. So, here we go with Tim Drake. He’s a stealth specialist who uses his bow staff to take down enemies with elemental effects, but his kit does lend itself to being a stealth-oriented character with a healthy amount of face-to-face dueling capabilities.
Robin is egregiously hard to pull off but with the right skill tree progression, and playstyle he is a potent and invaluable ally in any coordinated team’s hands, hence using his kit to its full ability is paramount to achieving that sweet W. This guide aims to do just that, and without further ado, here begins the guide.
Skill Tree Progression
The skill tree is where Robin’s kit shines and below is the progression. We start off with the skills that are absolutely a must-have trickling down to skills that are dependent on the type of playstyle you want to employ.
Turnabout Takedown

In my humble opinion, this is begrudgingly the best skill in the game. The turnabout takedown essentially lets Robin from taking down the chunkier enemies with a swift and effective stealth strike. This allows Robin to completely bypass the tedious process of trying to whittle down larger enemies so they are at a healthy level to be taken down. This essentially one-shots the enemy and allows for a more stealthy and covert approach to a fight.
The Turnabout Takedown skill has a set amount of damage that it can do, hence if the enemy is above the threshold the silent takedown won’t happen but rather a stealth strike. The only way to circumnavigate the issue is by leveling up, which we think is quite a bummer as the issue becomes progressively worse the more you play the game.
Stealth Takedown+

The Stealth Takedown+ skill should be used in tandem with the Turnabout Takedown. The Stealth Takedown+ skill in the knighthood tree increases Robin’s damage, Critical chance, Defence, and Elemetal Efgfect build-up for 15 seconds after a takedown has initiated. As Robin, it is essential that you start your fights with a takedown and Stealth Takedown+ only exacerbates your stealth damage.
Exploding Decoy

The Exploding Decoy skill allows the decoy that Robin places to inflict large amounts of Elemental Effect damage on the attacking enemy. This allows Robin to do heaps of area-of-effect damage without essentially doing anything. This is great when used in conjunction with the myriad of evading tools that Robin has in his arsenal.
Elemental Decoy

The Elemental decoy is the exact same ability as the Exploding decoy stated prior but with one major caveat, with the elemental decoy when the decoy does explode it leaves behind Elemental residue that deals Elemental damage to any enemy that walks into it.
Use this in unison with the Exploding decoy to extract the maximum amount of damage from your decoys. This just makes your decoy so much more powerful and can be used as an effective distraction tool when paired with your evade.
Vantage Hanging Takedown

The Vantage Hanging Takedown is extremely useful for taking down enemies from an elevated surface stealthily. Normally, Robin would have to drop down to incapacitate the enemy this is detrimental for many obvious reasons, but with Vantage takedown, the execution happens from the vantage point, and the body is left hanging making you all the more elusive.
Sticky Pellets (Enhanced)
Sticky pellets don’t sound too good, but Sticky pellets provide you with yet another zoning utility in your arsenal. Are enemies overwhelming you? No problem, throw a stick pellet at the ground to temporarily incapacitate them. Using the sticky pellets as a form of stealth takedown is not advised, because more often than not, this will end up clumping enemies together and stifling your chances of getting a clean Stealth Takedown.
Coupling the original Stick Pellets with the upgraded Stick Pellets (Enhanced) grants you more damage as well as maneuverability. Enhanced Sticky pellets deal 33 percent more damage than its predecessor and last up to 10 seconds.
Elemental Burst

Robin’s kit is centered around dealing elemental damage hence, it’s only logical that Elemental Burst is one of the skills that we would recommend. When Robin deals elemental damage, he gains a 5 percent chance of dealing additional Elemental damage in an area. Elemental burst also reduces enemies’ Elemental Effect resistance by 50 percent by 10 seconds.
All your weapons should have elemental damage equipped if a weapon doesn’t have as much elemental damage but has a lot of true damage. I’d swap the weapon for one with high elemental damage stats since this skill greatly increases your total DPS (Damage Per Second) and who doesn’t want that?
Momentum Abilities
There are a lot of mechanics in Gotham Knights with one of the most crucial to master being the Momentum abilities. More often than not, there are abilities that are simply just better than others and Robin is not an exception to that rule. The momentum abilities that would wreak the most havoc as a Robin player are listed as below.
Fireworks
Robin launches a combustible pellet that explodes into fireworks, inflicting elemental effect damage on enemies. The fireworks momentum ability is a ranged attack that conforms to the elemental type that you are using at the moment so it applies the elemental effect on everything it hits.
Evade Decoy
Robin evades and creates a decoy that attracts all enemies. It disappears once hit. This ability is a must-have since it pairs up with the skill/s Elemental Decoy, Exploding Decoy. Not only does it deal a boatload of damage, but it is an excellent evasion tool and creates an almost instant diversion in the case that a fight does not go your way.
