The time has finally come, and Portkey’s games’ highly anticipated wizard open-world Hogwarts Legacy is finally in the hands of consumers.
Hogwarts Legacy’s mesmerizing graphics, coupled with the highly intricate RPG-esque combat and leveling system make it indeed a game designed for the masses, so regardless of your gaming preferences, there is truly something out there for everyone in Hogwarts Legacy.

Naturally, with an AAA RPG title, there is bound to be some sort of grueling and mundane leveling system. If you want to unlock the myriad of skills and abilities for your wizard in the fastest time possible and go “Avada Kedavra” the fastest, there is no choice but to put your hours in. That’s where this guide comes in.
This guide shows you what are the fastest and most efficient methods to gain that sweet XP with the least amount of raw effort (you should be thanking me, Valorant players). So without further ado, here begins the guide.
Method #1: Completing Waves in the Battle Arena
So, as many players already know, you can level up in Hogwarts Legacy by hunting down the field guide pages, but there is another way to level up even faster. To do this, you will need to go to one of the Battle Arena activities; you can find one of them right on your map.

Once you get to your respective Battle Arena, you will need to smash all of the white pots in the area. This shouldn’t be too hard to do as they aren’t really hidden, but if you are having a hard time tracking them down, just use the Revelio spell to briefly reveal them, which can help you locate the last of those pesky pots.
Once you’ve smashed all of the white pots, the entrance to the battle arena will open (if you can’t find it, there will be a short action sequence showing you the exact location).
Pro Tip: You can do this on your game’s current difficulty, or you can lower the difficulty to make it even easier to kill the hordes with no penalty to the XP gained whatsoever.
We highly recommend turning the difficulty down to the “Story” settings, to aid you in your XP farming journey.
Once you’ve done all that, you will need to kill all of the enemies that spawn. You will gain experience for killing these enemies, and you will also gain a large amount of experience for completing the activity, which normally takes about five minutes to do.

On top of all of that, you will also make good progress on the combat section of your Field Guide, which will also give you more experience (truly a win-win situation for everybody). Then, once you’ve completed this activity, you can restart it and do it over and over, so in theory, you could use this method to level all the way to the max level.
This is by far the easiest and most convenient method of farming XP that is currently in the game.
Method #2: Collecting Field Page Guides
If it’s raw efficiency you’re seeking, collecting field guide pages is definitely your best bet. Field page guides can be found both in and around the castle, and there are literally hundreds of them, especially early in the game.
You’ll be spending a lot of time inside the castle exploring different floors and such, and while you’re there, you should definitely focus on spamming that Revelio ability, as every time you get close to a field guide page, a bell sound will play, and the closer you get, the louder the sound becomes.
If you’re really close, the page will basically be revealed, and you can easily interact with it, which in turn rewards you with a whopping 80 experience for every single page, and in Hogwarts alone, that’s already 150, but if you want to locate them outside the coastal walls very quickly as well, just use Revelio when exploring out in the open on your broom. This automatically marks their location on the minimap, as illustrated below:

This will take you approximately to the location where the Field Guide Page is, and when you’re in the vicinity, spam Revelio and rinse and repeat till you’ve found them all.
Method #3: Farming Animals
After you’ve progressed through the first 30 levels, it becomes significantly harder to gain XP in a reasonable manner, and this is where animal farming comes in. To do this method, you need to head on over to North Ford Bog and complete the four dens and the two battle arenas there. And when you do arrive, make sure to capture birds as well as the occasional Thestral.

The birds themselves not only give you 30 XP but also have feathers that can help you tremendously in upgrading your gear. This gear allows you to scale your magic damage and make the subsequent missions much easier to complete.
Pro Tip: Keep your difficulty on “Story” settings, as it eliminates the need for hitting quick-time events when trying to farm animals as opposed to the other settings.
Also, bear in mind that whenever you fast-travel from one den to another, the animals reset, so there’ll be more waiting for you once you return.
