We’ve had a wild year so far. And we’ve had several breakthroughs, crashes, and unfortunate scam events in the blockchain space. But the blockchain gaming industry is going to be even wilder.

This year, 2022, comes a diversity of fun-to-play and play-to-earn NFT games that we can all engross ourselves with. So without further ado, here are the top 10 NFT games of 2022!

    Table of Contents

    • 1. Illuvium
    • 2. Ember Sword
    • 3. Pegaxy
    • 4. DeFi Kingdoms
    • 5. Thetan Arena
    • 6. STEPN
    • 7. Genopets
    • 8. Bomb Crypto
    • 9. Aurory
    • 10. Crabada
    • Conclusion

    1. Illuvium

Illuvium may be the hottest upcoming play-to-earn game this 2022. The game is set in a mystical land full of mysteries and wonders where fascinating creatures known as Illuvials roam. Illuvials are classified into different classes and affinities, which can be captured by players to battle other wild Illuvials and players.

These Illuvials are also NFTs that can be traded within the blockchain. Illuvium comes with different game modes, such as the open-world (where players can explore and capture Illuvials), auto-battler mode, and Illuvium Zero (where players can own lands as NFTs that have a direct influence on the main game).

Illuvium promises to bring many more features and game modes in the future, making it a game that’ll soon shake the blockchain gaming community.

    2. Ember Sword

Ember Sword is a free MMORPG game that allows players to create their adventure and partake in creating a thriving and self-sustaining community within the game.

Players can explore the vast land within this game and battle epic monsters, and collect items that can be crafted into unique NFTs. Moreover, its classless combat system creates a unique gameplay experience that relies on the player’s skills, making a perfect recipe for a fun and competitive gameplay.

    3. Pegaxy

Pegaxy, also known as Pegasus Galaxy, is a glorified horse betting game that allows players to own and collect mechanized horses with wings. It was inspired by a mythical divine horse known as the pegasus, having glorious angel wings, hence the title of this game, Pegaxy.

Players can earn through racing, breeding, and selling their Pega horses as NFTs. Furthermore, players can earn passive income by staking their horses or lending them to other players for a split of the profit. And last but not least, players can have their horses compete in a race in hopes of winning and bringing them profits. But their horses would need to be in the top 3 finishers to be granted a reward.

Pegaxy doesn’t require much work because it is mainly a passive type of game. So if you’re looking for an NFT game that doesn’t require a huge chunk of your time, this could be the game for you.

    4. DeFi Kingdoms

DeFi Kingdoms is a pixelated fantasy RPG game that lets you collect Hero NFTs, with each having its stats, unique abilities, and its own HP and MP bars. Aside from the RPG characters, players can also collect equipable gears that would enhance their NFT heroes to give them an edge during battles and PvP.

Another feature it offers is Land ownership which players can build their thriving kingdom, not only for them to show off to their friends but also for various resources that players can use for crafting. And oh! I forgot to mention that NFT heroes can also come across special eggs that could hatch into rare pets that would serve them as loyal companions for their adventures.

    5. Thetan Arena

Thetan Arena is a free NFT play-to-earn MOBA game. Typically, MOBA game matches last around 20 to 30 minutes per game up to an hour. But Thetan Arena’s matches only last for 10 minutes. Thetan Arena also features several game modes: Battle Royale, Tower Mode, Deathmatch Mode, and Superstar Mode. And with dozens of different characters to choose from, it makes a recipe for a fun and competitive gameplay experience.

Each character is a collectible NFT that can be played to earn profits or sold in an NFT marketplace. Players are also given a free Hero to start playing for free, but the profit they can make would also be significantly less than using premium heroes. But you can always work your way up to purchase premium characters to earn more.

    6. STEPN

STEPN is a move-to-earn fitness lifestyle app that rewards players just by exercising. However, for players to start earning, they would need to purchase NFT sneakers that cost 11 Solana.

It’s a price that’s a bit too much for the average, but we can’t deny that it’s such an exciting way of promoting a healthy and active lifestyle as players get to earn while doing daily routine exercise. Who would’ve thought that it’s possible to make money just by exercising? Sign me up!

    7. Genopets

Suppose STEPN was a bit too expensive for you. In that case, Genopets is an excellent alternative as it’s also a move-to-earn NFT game where players can perform not only physical exercises but also mind and spirit activities, all the while earning money on the side.

In Genopets, players would need to hatch eggs that would later become their digital spirit animal. And of course, these spirit animals are NFTs, and they can evolve gamified progression systems. The more exercises you do, the faster your animal spirit develops.

Moreover, Genopets are not just there to sit and look pretty. Players can also play games with them to earn tokens and battle other players’ Genopets.

    8. Bomb Crypto

If you’re looking for a nostalgic gameplay experience that lets you earn money, Bomb Crypto is the game for you! Inspired by the classic Bomber Man, Bomb Crypto enables you to collect NFT heroes and form a team to farm tokens known as BCOIN, which have real-world value.

There are five NFT bomber heroes that you collect, each having its own unique skills and attributes. And there are three ways to collect bomber heroes. The first option is to buy one from the in-game shop. The second option is rescuing one through in-game participation in Treasure Hunt Mode. And lastly, bomb heroes are auctioned by other players, allowing you to purchase one directly from other players.

    9. Aurory

Aurory is a turn-based play-to-earn game that runs on the Solana blockchain. Moreover, Aurory is split into two parallel planes, one is centralized, and the other is decentralized. This is done to reduce fees for every in-game purchase or transaction you make.

The game is set in a futuristic magical world where you can explore and catch pokemon inspired creatures called Nefties. These adorable creatures will accompany you on your journey and even earn in-game tokens that have real-world value.

    10. Crabada

Crabada is an idle game that lets you earn passive income by owning one! These fearsome hermit crabs can also breed, battle, explore, and mine. That means more money for you, though you’d have to invest in this, and its price might be a little too high for the average investor.

Hermit crabs are collectible NFTs with a multitude of classes and different attributes. So it’s best to take every crab’s stats into account before you get one. And the more hermit crabs you own, the more you earn.

    Conclusion

This year has been an eventful year for blockchain games and NFT investors. Still, there’s a lot more to come, and I could’ve easily made a list of the top 20 upcoming NFT games. But we wanted to make this short for your convenience.

Don’t forget to keep in touch with us because we have many more updates and content to bring. Stay tuned!
